The latest scam (excuse me, glitch) on the federal Obamacare exchange website was revealed this morning by CBS News. It seems that the feds just changed the site to allow folks to browse the policies without first signing up for an account. That means that a person who can actually get on the website (which is no mean feat itself) can now look at the available policies to see what they cover and what they cost. But here's the problem: the government is giving out phony low prices to the people browsing. Instead of giving out the actual prices, the government just provides the prices for people who are either 27 or 50; the website calls these the prices for folks under 50 on the one hand and 50 or over on the other hand. If a person who is 63 visits the site, the price he or she is given for the over 50 crowd is about half of what the actual charge would be. Similarly, if a person who is 49 visits the site to browse, he or she gets a price which is way lower than what would actually be charged.
Imagine for a moment what the response from the federal government would be if people going to the Amazon website were given one price and then charged twice that amount. Indeed, imagine what the feds would say if any private company were to give out price information that was too low by half. I can hear people like Elizabeth Warren lamenting the evil big corporations who were ripping off their customers. Eric Holder would spring into action to stop the fraud. The media would go into overtime to denounce the outrageous conduct.
No compare what is happening when it is the federal government which is carrying out the fraud. Where are the Democrat politicians denouncing the evil big government that is ripping off average Americans? Why is the White House not stopping this criminal activity immediately?
Things have really reached a bad place for president Obama. Imagine how Obama must feel. His most important accomplishment, Obamacare, is now being exposed for committing unquestioned fraud by CBS News. The liberal mainstream media has actually been made to realize just how terrible things are with Obamacare. CBS actually exposed criminal fraud by the government. Obama must feel dazed that his usual supporters in the media have turned on him.
The real truth is that for once reality has actually broken through the political spin. There is simply no good way to spin what has happened. And it is only going to get worse!
