Man the Barricades!!

In what has to be a public relations disaster for the White House, veterans' groups marched today in Washington, took the barricades down at the WW II Memorial, and carried the barricades to the White House.  There is nothing quite like this in recent memory.  Here you have a group of elderly men and women who stood up to protect America chastising president Obama and his people for trying to use them as pawns in the fighting over the partial government shutdown.  The key here is that these folks are not talking about what the government does for them; rather, the problem is what the president is doing TO them.  How can an open air monument that normally has no staff present suddenly be closed because the government cannot spend all its money?  If it cost nothing when the government has funds to spend, why should the WW II Memorial suddenly need to be shut down due to a lack of cash?

Fortunately, the feds did not send in police to stop these vets from making their "statement".  I guess even the Obamacrats understand just how awful it would look to have federal police arresting or even fighting with elderly vets.

Clearly, it is time for the Democrats to stop trying to inflict pain on the American people for political gain.
