Why Does Obama Say These Things?

In the last three weeks, president Obama has 1) told Wall Street that it was not worried enough about the government shutdown; 2) told the country that the USA "stands a good chance" of defaulting on its debts; and 3) announced that he would never negotiate (right before he began to negotiate).

These are statements that should never come from the president of the United States.  Congressmen and Senators are representatives of small parts of the country.  They have particular constituents who they serve.  Only the president serves the entire country.  He is supposed to have the best interests of the country at heart.  So the question arises, why in the world would Obama try to scare the stock market into collapse, scare consumers into deferring purchases and scare foreigners into dropping potential investments in America?  Such moves are a lose-lose-lose for the economy and the country.

We need a president who understands the actual effect of his actions.  We deserve better than Obama.
