More Cracks?

Yesterday, I wrote about president Obama's declining poll numbers.  Well the erosion continued today.  The Rasmussen poll moved another percent wider in the margin between those who disapprove and those who approve of Obama's job performance.  A 1% move is not important except that it continues the trend towards wider disapproval of Obama.  At the Gallup poll, the other daily tracking poll of Obama's job performance, disapproval of Obama hit the highest level in two years.  Remember, these polls are three day, rolling tallies.  That means that the results for yesterday were worse (or for Gallup substantially worse) than they were four days ago.  Believe me, the folks at the White House know exactly what these polls show and they are becoming concerned.  If the trend keeps going, it could be the end of Obama's ability to get anything at all done during his second term.  Further, for those Democrats from red states up for re-election in 2014, the major decline in support for Obama pushes them towards negotiations with the GOP to resolve the entire mess in Washington.  The Republicans may be losing their resolve, but it may be a contest to see who breaks first.
