I don't often write about Connecticut governor Dan Malloy, mainly because he rarely does anything worth writing about. I've been meaning to write for a few days, however, about Malloy's order banning travel by state employees on state business to Indiana. This order is absurd. First of all, the Indiana law does nothing to allow discrimination against gays. The standards applied in Indiana before the law on that issue will be identical after the law goes into effect. The storm of protest which has arisen in response to the law is based totally on a false narrative. Second and more important, however, is that Connecticut has the same law on the books. Get it? Malloy is banning travel to Indiana when Connecticut's law is the same. How come it is so bad in Indiana but not in our state of Connecticut? The answer: Malloy is either an idiot or a political opportunist. My view is that he is both.
