Jeb Bush Calls Himself Hispanic (Yawn)

The New York Times today came forward with what it thought was big news:  in 2009, Jeb Bush checked the box for Hispanic on his voter registration form rather than the one for white.

Supposedly, this is important.  Really?  Are they kidding?  In 2009, the son of one president and the brother of another president checked the wrong box on a form that no one ever sees except at the polls on election day.  Does anyone really think that when Bush (who is also the former governor of Florida) shows up to vote that the folks at the polls check his race to see if he's actually Jeb Bush?  Really?  This is about the silliest story I've seen in a long time.

But think about the Times.  They could write about the paperwork submitted by Hillary Clinton in connection with the Clinton Foundation and its millions of dollars of receipts from foreign entities wanting to influence American foreign policy.  They could have written about Elizabeth Warren and the documents she submitted claiming to be an Native American (something that gave her a big advantage in getting employed at Harvard).  Nope, the big story is a mistake on Jeb's voter registration form.

Unbelievable.
