CBS has named the replacement for Bob Schieffer on Face The Nation. It's John Dickerson and it's a horrible choice.
The Sunday morning shows like Face The Nation are supposed to be interviews with newsmakers followed by analysis from a panel of journalists. Dickerson is nominally a journalist, but in reality he is a strident partisan. Indeed, all one needs to know about him is that he is the chief political correspondent for Slate. Having him conduct interviews is roughly the same as having the chair of the Democrat National Committee do them. Everything will be slanted.
The sad thing is that there are so many reporters out there who are less biased. Why does CBS think they need to put on such a one sided person?
