The latest figures released to show the levels of state debt show that Connecticut has more debt per capita than any other state. At $4800 per person, the Nutmeg State is way ahead of Nebraska that, at $15 per person, comes in the lowest. the sad truth, however, is that basket cases like California have debt that is only three quarters as high as Connecticut. There may well be a connection between the high levels of debt and the low levels of job creation in the state.
