CNN Goes Off The Deep End

I know that CNN is the network that last year questioned whether the missing Malaysian airliner had been swallowed by a black hole, but even for them, their latest "investigation" is bizarre.  I am referring to the CNN reporting about the various "tales" told by Dr. Ben Carson about his childhood in Detroit and his victory over anger which was leading him in the wrong direction in his life.  Carson has repeatedly told audiences of his misdeeds as a young teen when he got into fights.  Among other things, Carson talks of once trying to hit his mother with a hammer, an attack which was foiled by his brother.  Carson also talks of trying to stab a guy with whom he was having an argument about what music to play.  Then Carson talks about praying to God for assistance in overcoming his anger and being able, after that, to do it.

Well now, CNN has gone back to try to verify these stories told by Carson.  And what does CNN report?  The network says that it cannot verify the stories.  More precisely, CNN says that it did not speak to Carson, his brother or his mother.  That makes it impossible for CNN or anyone else to verify a story that involves only those three people.  Carson's mother is, sadly, suffering from Alzheimers, so she will never be able to tell the story.  As to the second story of the attempt to stab the guy, CNN did not speak to the person who was the target of his attack.  No, CNN spoke to childhood friends of Carson who did not remember the event from 50 years ago.  From that, CNN indicates that maybe Carson is not telling the truth.

CNN ought to be ashamed of itself.  This has to be one of the most moronic hit pieces ever.  First of all, Carson wrote of these events in his autobiography published in 1990.  CNN never considers this point.  If the story were not true, why did no one say anything back then.  Then there's a more important issue:  if Carson is making this stuff up, why is he trying to make himself look bad?  Remember, back in 1990, Carson was not running for office; he was in no way political.  Carson would not have done that.  Again, CNN never considers this.

The reality of what is happening is that the Democrats and the liberals are growing scared of Carson.  After all, Dr. Carson is the most frightening thing of all to the left; he is a well spoken, conservative black man who refuses to follow the directions of the Democrats.  Just imagine if Carson were able through the force of his logic to get even one-third of the African Americans to vote for the GOP.  Just that shift would make it impossible for Hillary Clinton or any other Democrat to win the White House.  It would also mean that the Democrats could no longer take the black vote for granted; Democrats would actually have to care about conditions for blacks.  With the exception of the votes for Obama, blacks have voted for the Democrats principally based upon phony charges by the Dems that the GOP is somehow racist.  It's not true, but the phony story line is so ingrained that the Democrats can just keep it going without having to do much, if anything, for blacks.  CNN and the other liberal media are trying to discredit Dr. Carson before his message gets heard by the African American community.  Only by destroying Carson, can the mainstream media protect Hillary and the Dems.  These attacks are going to get worse before long.
