It's been strange to watch the reaction from the liberal Democrats to calls to limit or pause the acceptance of refugees from Syria who might include ISIS terrorists hidden among their numbers. They don't debate the merits of a pause; instead, they attack those calling for such a pause as islamophobic, racist, and/or un-American. The libs spent a great deal of time mocking those who favor the proposed pause as ignorant and even evil. It's a bizarre response.
Think about it. Here are the key facts:
1. There is a torrent of refugees leaving the Middle East and heading into Europe and America.
2. A great many of the refugees are young men of military age.
3. ISIS has announced that it will send some of its members to the West as part of the refugee groups.
4. At least one and maybe as many as three of the eight attackers in Paris last Friday entered France as refugees.
5. Despite claims to the contrary by the Obama Administration, there is no way to vet all the refugees successfully since there is no way to get information from Syria about the refugees. In other words, the US cannot, for example, call the local police in Aleppo to get the criminal record of a particular refugee.
6. America has already undergone terror attacks by Islamic refugees, something that shows how poor the vetting process has been. Probably the best known of these attacks was the Boston Marathon bombing carried out by two brothers who came as refugees.
These facts leave the country a choice: we can pause the flow of refugees until the situation can be sorted out (a move which will protect Americans against new terrorists arriving here) or we can ignore the problem and continue the refugee flow so we will be politically correct. The liberal Democrats are opting for political correctness instead of national security. President Obama has already made clear that he will continue the refugee flow unabated. Hillary Clinton has supported Obama in this. How can the Democrat leaders be so blind to the facts?
