What Is Wrong With Politico

Earlier today, Politico filed a false story about Ben Carson and had to change it as the actual facts came out.  The story went from a hit piece on Carson to one about the incompetence and bias of the media.  Tonight, Politico is having to change the essence of another story.  Again the original story was more like Democrat talking points but the reality turned out to be something else entirely.  The second story was about Hillary Clinton's classified emails on her private unsecured server.  The Inspector General of the Intelligence agencies had earlier stated that at least two of the over 600 email containing classified information had data that was TOP SECRET, an extremely high level of classification.  Politico reported earlier today that the Director of National Intelligence had reviewed the emails and determined that none of them contained that high level of classification.  After the story was printed, the Director of National Intelligence issued a statement saying that he had made no such determination.  In other words, the Politico story was just completely wrong.  Of course, by that time, a whole host of other media outlets had reported the phony Politico story.

It certainly seems as if Politico views its mission as more one to provide stories that help Democrats and hurt Republicans than to worry about the truth or falsity of what it publishes.

Politico is a disgrace.
