In one of the more idiotic things that the Democrat National Committee has ever done, it is out with a new web ad that castigates Republican presidential candidates for using the term "radical Islamic terrorists" or just "radical Islam". You can see the ad and a good analysis of it here. It's worth watching to get a sense of just how out of touch the Democrats are when it comes to fighting terror.
Think about it from three different angles: 1) political; 2) factual and 3) military.
On the political front, the Democrats and Hillary Clinton face an electorate that endorses the view that the USA is at war with radical Islamic terrorists. Even Democrats agree with that statement. Even more important over 90% of the public say that radical Islamic terrorists pose a danger to the USA. So the new ad is calling the American people, including most of the Democrats' own voters, racists, bigots and Islamophobes.
On the factual front, the ad castigates the Republicans for saying that we are at war with radical Islamic terrorists. None of the GOP candidates say that the USA is at war with Islam, just the radical portion of it that follows the ideology of ISIS and al Qaeda. What the GOP candidates say is true and the Democrats must know that. Nevertheless, for political correctness and fealty to the liberal doctrine of not offending anyone except conservatives and Republicans, the Democrats are prepared to put out false ads like this one which everyone knows are false.
From a military perspective, an ad like this must be very encouraging to ISIS and to al Qaeda. The terrorists must laugh when they see the party of president Obama actually lie to the American people about the threat that we face. It tells the terrorists that Obama and his party don't take them seriously, and that means that they can continue their attacks without an all out counter-attack coordinated from the top.
The truth is that this one ad ought to make clear that Hillary Clinton and any other Democrat cannot be elected president in 2016 without putting the entire country in danger.
