It's Beyond Belief

Sometimes things in the news are surprising, but rarely do we get such a total disconnect from reality as the latest story about the University of Missouri protests.  Here's the news in a nutshell:  the graduate student at Missouri who went on a hunger strike to protest his oppression and "white privilege" was upset because under Obamcare, the university was no longer able to offer health insurance for graduate student, a law with which Missouri complied.  Having this lower cost health insurance taken from him was oppression according to Jonathan Butler, the African American grad student.  It was yet another manifestation of White Privilege that was intolerable for Butler, so he began a hunger strike.  Here's the key, however.  Butler is the son of Eric Butler, the Executive Vice President of the Union Pacific Railroad.  According to documents filed by the Union Pacific with the SEC, last year Eric Butler earned $8.4 million.  So the hunger striker is from one of the wealthiest families in the country and he's protesting his oppression by White Privilege.

Let's stop here.  This news is mind-blowing.

First, how could Butler think that this information about his wealth and status would not come out?  It makes him a laughing stock.

Second, how can it be that the media did not bother to check to see just who Butler is?  The liberal media just saw a black "victim" and assumed he was correct in his position.

Third, since the university must have known who Butler is, why did the president and head of the board resign?

It's amazing!.
