Less than a day before the Paris attack by ISIS, president Obama told the media that ISIS has been contained. It was another manifestation of Obama talking about things the way he wants them to be rather than the way they actually are. The administration quickly tried to claim that Obama was talking only about ISIS in Iraq and Syria being contained, even though he said nothing of the sort. Still, the flub was portrayed by the media as a matter of poor timing.
Now, less than a week later, we have yet another moronic statement from a high government official that downplays the risk from terrorism. John Kerry told reporters yesterday afternoon, "We began our fight against al Qaeda in 2001 and it took us quite a few years before we were able to eliminate Osama bin Laden and the top leadership and neutralize them as an effective force." That's right, Kerry said that al Qaeda is NEUTRALIZED!
This morning in Mali, that same al Qaeda attacked the Radisson hotel in the capital city and large numbers of people were killed. That's the same al Qaeda to Kerry told us yesterday is NEUTRALIZED!
Just how moronic are our leaders? How oblivious to actual conditions can they be.
Let's hope that none of these fools tells us that the chance of Islamic terrorists getting weapons of mass destruction is zero. That would be the time to head for the hills.
