Last night on CNN, Don Lemon was doing a segment on how terrible it was that Donald Trump used the word "schlonged" with regard to Hillary Clinton's loss to Barack Obama in 2008. Lemon's guest, Kurt Schlicter was having none of it. Schlicter repeatedly said that he could not get upset for Hillary since she had enabled all of Bill Clinton's sexcapades (my word, not his) in the Oval Office with Monica Lewinsky. Lemon did not want to let the point be made, so he tried to keep the topic away from the Lewinsky affair and Hillary's role in enabling it. Finally, Lemon just cut Schlicter off saying this to Schlicter:
“This is the lowest of the low, and it has nothing to do with Hillary Clinton. It is just a cheap shot. … Thank you. We’re done.”
It was a new low even for a hack like Don Lemon. Hillary had nothing to do with the Lewinsky affair? Is he kidding? We all remember Hillary rushing on national TV to call the claims that Bill had been engaged in sex with a White House intern just "a vast right-wing conspiracy". Hillary, who knew better, just went on TV and lied to the nation in order to defend Bill. Even though there was irrefutable evidence of the sexual affair between Bill and Monica, Hillary never admitted it in public. She kept denying it to the end. The point is that she knowingly lied about it to the end. That means that for Lemon to say that the Lewinsky liason "had nothing to do with Hillary" is at best delusional and at worst an effort by a media hack to protect her.
The reality is that Don really is a lemon.
