One of the hallmarks of Hillary Clinton has always been her ability to stay on message and express herself clearly. Whether or not one agrees with what Hillary has to say, no one would accuse Mrs. Clinton of speaking in confusing or muddled ways. That's why Hillary's statements of just the last day make one wonder if something is wrong with her. Here are two examples of this:
At the Saban Forum today, Hillary gave a speech in which she said that if Iran breaks the deal negotiated by president Obama, then America must keep the nuclear option on the table. Justice Breyer who was there jumped in to correct the "nuclear option" to the "military option". Clinton acquiesced in the correction, but she had just threatened Iran with a nuclear attack nevertheless.
On ABC's This Week earlier today, Hillary was speaking about her view that America needs stricter gun laws. She said, “We need to close the gun show loophole, close the online loophole … and end the liability for gun sellers.” That's wrong. I don't mean the policy; we can leave that discussion for another time. What is wrong is Hillary's own words; she doesn't want to end the liability for gun sellers; she wants to impose liability on gun sellers. Hillary got her points backwards and they are points she well knows.
There's more, but these are the most egregious examples. Has Hillary had a mini-stroke? Did she fall and hit her head again? What's going on?
Look, it is still possible that these mistakes by Hillary are just coincidental and she is not ill or injured. It needs to be watched, however. In 2008, Hillary would never have made those mistakes. Now that she is approaching 70, we have to pay close attention to the signs of possible mental impairment.
