Yesterday, when I heard that president Obama would speak to the nation tonight, I wrote a post predicting what he would say. Sadly, I was correct with my prediction. The essence of Obama's speech was that he will continue to follow the same strategy that has failed so miserably to contain or destroy ISIS.
Obama's tone and delivery were nice, but so what. What Americans really wanted to hear was a plan to defeat ISIS, an improvement upon the strategy that has failed over the last year and a half. We got none of that. We were told by Obama that he was opposed to a massive invasion by American ground troops in the Middle East -- BUT NO ONE IS CALLING FOR THAT! We were told by Obama that Americans need not attack or discriminate against Moslems -- BUT NO ONE IS DOING THAT OR EVEN CALLING FOR THAT! We were told that gun control measures would help --BUT THE STRICT GUN CONTROL MEASURES IN CALIFORNIA DID NOT KEEP THE SAN BERNARDINO KILLERS FROM GETTING THEIR WEAPONS.
