Trying to Change the Subject

The White House spokesman this afternoon said that all the Republican candidates have to announce that they will not support Donald Trump if he is the nominee of their party because what Trump says (in this case about Moslem immigrants) is morally wrong.  Given that president Obama is presiding over a failed strategy for dealing with ISIS, the White House is just trying to change the subject.   (Okay, I know that many of you think Obama has no strategy for dealing with ISIS, but sadly, ignoring the problem while trying to look like you are doing something is a strategy, just one that leaves America and its people defenseless.)

It is a standard tactic on the left to try to split the opposition.  In other words, the White House has gone on the offensive against the GOP.  (Wouldn't it be nice if Obama, just once, went on the offensive against ISIS?)  If we are going to focus on immoral words, though, shouldn't we also focus on illegal actions?  We all know that what people do is much more important than what they say.  We also know that the almost certain Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton violated the law by putting sensitive national security secrets on her private and unsecured email system, a system that was hacked by the Chinese and the Russians alike.  General David Petreus was convicted of a crime for doing much less than that.  Hillary Clinton knowingly put these secrets at risk.  Accordingly, both Obama and Bernie Sanders have to announce that they will not support Hillary Clinton if she is the nominee of their party.

Anyone want to bet on whether we will see such an announcement?
