Is It Reality or Sci-Fi

If you ever watch science fiction movies, you have undoubtedly seen the plot where the enemy (whoever that is) turns off the power to an area or the USA.  Chaos ensues.  Traffic is snarled and eventually stops dead without lights.  Elevators don't work and people are trapped in high rise buildings.  Public transportation stops.  Food goes bad as refrigeration ends.  With security systems down, looting starts and the police can't control it.  You know the plot.  But here's something that you may not know:  in the last few years, Iranian hackers have been able to get into the systems that operate electric power plants across the country.  The Iranians have compromised the security to a point where it seems likely that Iran could turn off the US power grid in part and perhaps everywhere.

The AP is out with a report detailing this incredible security breach.  It seems that the Iranians have been hacking into all sorts of systems around the world.  In the last few years, Iran's hacker brigade -- or whatever they call their force -- actually took control of three different airports around the world.  think about that.  Imagine if Iran could turn off the FAA system or disrupt it to the point that planes could not easily land.  Such a move could lead to the crash of a great many planes that are in the air when the system goes down.  You know what happens; the USA confronts Iran on some front (after Obama's gone, of course), and the Iranians turn off the power and close down the airports.  Thousands of Americans are killed and there is major damage across the country.

The problem, of course, is that our government is not doing anything to prevent such an attack.  There will need to be major changes to the networks that run the power grid and security will need to be greatly enhanced.  The systems that are used in airports will also need to be upgraded.  This is a critical problem, but Obama is just ignoring it.

We have only one more year of Obama and his policy of ignoring problems like the jayvee terrorists at ISIS or the hackers in Iran.  We have to pray that nothing terrible happens during that time and that our next president will understand the dangers we face and take action.  We know Hillary is not that president; she just said on Saturday night that we're where we need to be with regard to ISIS.  Someone ought to tell her that where we are is up the creek without a paddle.
