Those Wonderful Polls

In the last two days, there have been two national polls of the Republican presidential race released.  CNN found that Donald Trump leads the second place candidate, Ted Cruz, by 39% to 18%.  At the same time, Quinnipiac found that Trump leads Cruz by 28% to 24%.  So what are we to believe?  I Trump ahead by 21% nationally, or is it just a 4% lead?

The numbers of these polls demonstrate the harsh reality that polls are often wrong.  That means, that despite all the polls, we really don't know who anything other than the general standing of the candidates.  We know that Trump is in the lead followed by Cruz, Rubio and Carson with the rest of the candidates way, way behind.  That's not much different from what we've known for the last month.

Hopefully, the avalanche of polls will stop during the Christmas/New Year's period.  That would be a welcome respite.
