Obama To Take On ISIS

Tomorrow, president Obama is going to take on ISIS in his usual way:  he is going to give a speech.  Most likely, Obama's address to the nation about terrorism will embody Lincoln's words from the Gettysburg address, "The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here."  After all, think of all the speeches that Obama has given over the last seven years in office.  Do you remember any of what he has said?

Sadly, the most likely line to come from Obama is to once again say that America will continue to follow the strategy used by Obama for dealing with ISIS for the last year and a half.  In other words, the failed strategy will be allowed to continue to fail.  No doubt we will also hear how Islam is a religion of peace and how the violent extremists (Obama language for terrorists) have nothing to do with it.  We will also certainly hear about the huge coalition of countries that are supposedly cooperating to fight ISIS.  Some of these countries have not even contributed anything to the effort, but no matter, it sounds good to list them as part of the effort.  We will surely also hear a plea for acceptance of the unvetted Syrian refugees that Obama is pouring into the country; nothing like bringing in new potential terrorists to keep up the supply of killers.  Put it all together and it seems safe to say that Obama would do better to spend the time playing golf rather than giving this speech.
