Are They Kidding?

I just received an email from someone named Andrew Hemingway that really amused me.  Hemingway wanted me to sign up for a group seeking to draft Newt Gingrich to run for the senate.

No, really, I am not kidding.  This guy wants people to sign up to draft the immature and self-important Newt to be a US senator.  Now I know that the senate is already filled with prima donas, nearly all of whom could easily be called "immature and self-important", but Newt Gingrich?  Really?

Does Hemingway think that Americans have forgotten the 2012 presidential campaign when Newt through away all of his so-called principles to attack Mitt Romney for being too successful in business?  Republicans and conservatives are supposed to want individuals to succeed, not to criticize them for doing so.  What's next?  Will Newt decide to run for senate and criticize Christians for going to church?

Gingrich revealed himself to be devoid of principles in 2012 and only interested in himself.  He would be a terrible addition to the senate.  He finally has found himself the right place, and he should not leave there.  He is now on Crossfire on CNN.  That means Newt gets to pontificate at great length on TV and no one has to watch.  Actually, it seems from the ratings that no one is watching.
