News reports say that House Republicans want to delay the Obamacare individual mandate by a year as part of the funding of the government. The Democrats say that there can be no such delay. President Obama calls the request for the delay "extortion"; Nancy Pelosi calls it the equivalent of "arson" and Harry Reid says the GOP is holding America "hostage" with this delay request.
So where are we with the rest of Obamacare? A few months ago, Obama delayed the mandate for big business to provide healthcare; he put it off for a year. Now today word comes that the exchanges which are supposed to make insurance plans available for small businesses are also being delayed on order from Obama. The requirement for Congress to use Obamacare was also put off by Obama. The only people who will get hit by Obamacare, then, are the middle income people who get hit the hardest by the individual mandate. Obama puts off nearly the entire bill and the media thinks that is fine. If the GOP wants the entire bill delayed rather than just most of it, they are terrorists and criminals.
