More "Success" and "Breakthroughs" on Syria

The mainstream media is reporting a major "breakthrough" and "success" on Syria, namely that there has been agreement on the text of a UN Security Council resolution regarding the disposal of the chemical weapons in that country.  Let's examine this wonderful result of the inspired foreign policy of our fearless leader, president Barack Hussein Obama.

1.  The so-called breakthrough ended the dispute over whether or not the resolution should set forth consequences including military strikes should the Assad regime fail to comply.  Russia wanted silence on this point; the USA wanted explicit authorization for the use of force.  The so-called breakthrough came when Obama backed down and agreed to what the Russians want.  There is some vague language in the draft resolution which allows America to claim that it got something, but there is no authorization for the use of force in the draft, and that is what the USA wanted.  Russia won and America lost.

2.  Assad is quoted in an interview with a Lebanese newspaper as follows:  “We have a full Russian pledge that Russian troops will enter in any war waged against Syria.”  Simply put, Putin has assured Assad that he will not be attacked and he is using the armed forces of Russia to guarantee that outcome.  Obama simply will not attack Assad's forces if he thinks that there is any chance that the Russians will get involved on the other side.  Once again, Russia uses is military to generate a win for its foreign policy; America stands by and loses.

Obama is a total failure.
