The big issue on social media today is the call by Alyssa Milano for women to abstain from sex until all the new state laws restricting abortion are repealed. It's not only a big subject for discussion, but also a pretty good indicator of just how dumb Alyssa Milano actually is. I mean Milano starred on TV as a child and then had a role in that very intellectual show "Charmed" where she played a witch, but she's never demonstrated any brain power and her current position emphasizes this. To be fair, Milano was the host of one of the Project Runway spinoffs on some little watched cable channel, but I don't know of anything else she's doing as of now.
Anyway, back to the sex strike. Let's think about what this actually means.
Research done by the Pew foundation shows that in about 80% of couples, both the man and woman agree in general on major political issues. This doesn't mean that a household is uniformly Democrat or Republican, but rather that people tend to form relationships with others who generally agree with them. It's not very common for a strong pro-choice person to be in a relationship with a strong pro-life person. Less than 10% of couples fall into this group.
If you assume only strongly pro-choice women will follow Milano's call for a sex strike, you realize quickly that the men being denied sex will be over 90% likely to also be pro-choice. They are already convinced that these abortion limitations should be repealed. In other words, in general the people who will be discomforted by Milano's proposed sex strike will just be pro-choice. That's not likely to work very well to convince others.
