The Supreme Court issued a ruling today in a case brought by certain owners of I-phones against Apple. At issue in the case is Apple's high commissions which it charges on sales of apps for the phones since those apps can only be purchased from the App Store (which is Apple). It's really not worth explaining the arcane details of anti-trust law which the case decides. The point is that this is a decision about a specific law regarding anti-trust. It is not something political or social. I mention that because the opinion was written by Justice Kavanaugh who joined with Kagan, Sotomayor, Ginsburg an Breyer in coming to the conclusion. Roberts, Thomas, Kasich and Alito voted the other way. The media is making this into some sort of big breakthrough for the liberals on the Court. Kavanaugh voted with them! The problem is that the issue in the case is not a liberal vs. conservative sort of issue. The media needs to calm down.
