The Federal Government is Suing Texas to Overturn the Texas Voter ID Law

The Department of Justice announced today that it is filing suit to stop the new law in Texas which requires Texans to produce a photo ID in order to vote.  According to the Department of Justice, the photo ID requirement is racist.

It is worth noting that 34 states now have photo ID laws for voting.  One which recently passed the requirement was Rhode Island which has lopsided Democrat majorities in its legislature as well as a Democrat governor.  Here is how Rhode Island describes the photo ID requirement on the state web site:

This year, poll workers will ask you to show a current and valid ID when you vote at your polling place. Voter ID strengthens the public’s faith in the integrity of our elections by enabling poll workers to match a voter’s face to the name they give at the polls.

For what it is worth, the Department of Justice is not suing Rhode Island to overturn the photo ID law.  Apparently, in Obama's Washington a photo ID law is racist if passed by Republicans but the same requirement is perfectly fine if passed by Democrats.

These guys have got to go.
