A Syrian Update For Thanksgiving

Remember Syria?  You know, it's that country in the Middle East where about 150,000 people have been killed in a civil war that began when the Assad government started shooting and killing demonstrators.  It was the subject of one of president Obama's famous moving red lines, the magic ones that move further away if someone crosses them.  There is not much more that needs to be said about Obama's errors that led to the assurance that Assad and his vicious party would be maintained in office despite an uprising by at least 75% of the population against it.  I do, however, think it worth a look back at the current situation in Syria to see the results of Obama's policies.

Right now, a small portion of Syria's chemical weapons are scheduled to be destroyed.  Of course, the destruction has not taken place because no country is willing to accept the weapons on its territory so that they can be liquidated.  There is now talk of destroying the weapons at sea.  Besides the delay and palaver about the chemical weapons, however, the civil war continues, so does the death toll.  The latest weapon deployed by Obama's friend and partner for peace, Bashir Assad, is mass starvation.  Where possible, Assad forces have cut off food and medicines to people located in areas that harbor rebels.  Thousands of innocents, mostly children are suffering from serious malnutrition and the day is fast approaching where death from starvation will commence in large numbers.

Someone ought to explain to Obama that when he makes a mistake like the Syrian policy, thousands of people die.
