The Un-fix Fix

The fix proposed by president Obama for the millions of folks who lost their insurance despite his promise that they could keep their policies has now dissolved completely.  California announced today that it will not allow policies to be reinstated after they were cancelled because of Obamacare.  This is a critical move because over 20% of all the cancelled policies are in the Golden State.  In fact, states which account for over 30% of the cancelled policies have now said no to the plan while states accounting for less than 5% have said that they will try to see if they can make the plan work.  Even in the states that are willing to try, the first reactions from the insurance carriers have been negative.  Put it all together, and it is clear that Obama's fix will not work.  Perhaps it was designed by the same folks who designed the exchange website.

When you add to this the impending cancellation of close to one hundred million policies issued to employers both large and small, and the magnitude of the carnage becomes clear.  Obamacare is destroying the health insurance policies of nearly half of all insured Americans despite express and repeated promises from Obama that this would not happen.  Obama's attempt to fix the situation has collapsed in just a week.  Millions and perhaps tens of millions of people will soon be added to the rolls of the uninsured.  The net effect of Obamacare has been to increase the numbers of the uninsured not to decrease them.

So, Obama promised Obamacare would save us all big bucks.  Instead we will all be paying much more for coverage.  Obama promised we could keep out doctors.  Most folks will lose them.  Obama promised we could keep out policies if we like them.  It turned out to be a bald faced lie; nearly half of America will lose their policies.  Obama promised that Obamacare would not cost more than the taxes it brought in.  The latest estimate is now that the net cost will exceed a trillion dollars over the next decade.  Finally, Obama promised that Obamacare would create jobs.  Aside from the navigators who can't navigate because the site cannot accommodate them, the programmers who cannot design a site that works and the public relations people who spend their days telling us how "wonderful" Obamacare is, despite the terrible reality, there are no new jobs.  In fulfilling his promises, Obama is 0 for 5.  In truth, he ought to have been tossed out of the game for a personal foul, the big lie he knowingly told us all.
