Let's Not Let It Get Lost

Earlier this week, Congress finally heard testimony from witnesses who were actually in Benghazi during the terrorist attack on the US consulate in that city last year.  It has take 14 months to get the Obama administration to finally allow these witnesses to come forward and provide evidence as to what actually happened on the ground that night.  The testimony was classified, but the content of what was said has leaked out to a certain extent.

Perhaps the most important detail of what the witnesses said was this:  the attack in Benghazi was ongoing rather constantly for about 14 hours.  This is directly contrary to what Obama administration officials told Congress.  The Obamacrats had previously told the committee that there was an initial attack, then an 8 to 9 hour lull, followed by another attack.  The Obamacrat story helped explain why president Obama did not bother to send any help to those under attack.  After all, (or so we had been told) the attack ended after about two hours and the second wave was a surprise.  If the witnesses who were there are correct (and they certainly should know) and the attack went on for 14 hours, then there is no excuse why Obama decided not to send help and to leave the Americans in Beghazi to fend for themselves.

Normally, uncovering this sort of lie would be lost in the shuffle.  No one would either believe that Obama has been lying or even that it had any consequences.  In the aftermath of the great Obamacare lies, however, folks are now more likely to accept Obama's statements for what they actually are:  lies!
