We keep hearing more news about the nearly total lack of security for the information of users of the Obamacare exchange sites. Most of the attention has been focused on the failures of the federal site that covers about two thirds of the country, but more and more we are learning of security failures at the state exchanges as well. People who are not even trying to get personal information of other users are being given that supposedly confidential information without even requesting it. Hackers have testified before Congress to explain just how simple it is to gather all the confidential information on the folks who have input it as required to use the exchanges. At the moment, it is still extremely difficult to actually buy insurance on the exchanges. The sites seem to work best as collection points for confidential information that can be then stolen by hackers.
I don't understand why anyone would use these sites until they get fixed.
