Obama's "I'm Too Smart" Defense

In the middle of his press conference this morning, president Obama just told the American people that he could prove that he had no idea that the Obamacare website would fail so badly because he is "not stupid enough" to say that it would work if he knew that it would not.

There are two problems with this answer:

First, nothing Obama said explained how the Obamacare exchange could go live without his caring enough to ask about whether or not it had any problems.  Shouldn't we all be able to expect that the president would try to manage such a major move by the federal government.  Obama did not have to read the code or get all the testing data, but he should have had enough interest to provide a general overview of the site.

Second, after seeing Obama at work for the last years, his claim that he is "not stupid enough" to say something that he knew was untrue rings hollow.  The man is a pathological liar.  He does not care what is true whether or not he is smart or stupid.
