More Politics Rather Than Fixes

Since it is Friday afternoon, we got the traditional Friday news dump from the White House.  Today the news is that the enrollment period for Obamacare in 2014 has been delayed; instead of starting in October, it will now begin on November 15th.  That means, of course, that the enrollment period will come just after election day rather than before it.  It also means that the inevitable huge increases in insurance premiums that are going to hit at the end of 2014 will come after election day rather than before it.  Most likely, there is going to be some other move soon to delay the date on which the cancellation notices will go out next year from October 1 to just after election day.

The reason given by the White House for the move is comical.  Supposedly, the delay is intended to give insurance companies more time to determine their experience with the Obamacare policies so that they can figure out their rates better.  Really?  That extra four weeks is really going to make a big difference.  Ten months is insufficient but eleven months will be the charm?  I am amazed that they can actually say this stuff without laughing.

If the White House would spend even half the amount of time trying to fix the problems with Obamacare that they spend worrying about politics, there might be some progress.  Instead with Obama it is all politics all the time.  It is a true disgrace.

Insurance company rates presently are set to be complete by April 2013, they may back that up till the end of May. however, the B.S. about delaying for the insurance companies IS TRULY BULL SHIT
