Here are some important facts about the numbers of Obamacare:
1. To date, just over 4.9 million policies in the individual market have been reported cancelled. Since many of these policies are for spouses or family coverage, the number of people who lost their coverage due to these cancellations is estimated at 9 million.
2. According to president Obama, the number of uninsured folks across America when Obamacare passed was 47 million.
3. Since the Obamacare exchange websites went live, the number of policies sold both on the federal exchange and the various state exchanges is fewer than one hundred thousand. Those policies cover an estimated 180,000 people.
4. Based upon these figures, Obamacare has caused the number of uninsured Americans to rise by 8.8 million people. That means that there are now 19% more uninsured Americans as a direct result of Obamacare!
Let's be sure that no one misses this fact. So far, there are eight million, eight hundred thousand more people who are uninsured (on a net basis) as a result of Obamacare.
We also learned today that the Obama administration is planning to lie about how many policies have been sold. Instead of counting actual sales, Obama is going to tell us the number of people who either bought a policy or who put a choice in the shopping cart on the site but never completed the purchase.
Not only is that figure a lie, but it is also set up perfectly to be manipulated. How much do you want to bet that we will soon here of organized efforts for people who don't need insurance going on the site, setting up accounts and putting a policy in their shopping carts before leaving the site. Such an effort will cost nothing since no policies will be bought. It will boost the numbers of those "signing up" according to Obama. It will be a total lie.
Instead of honesty, all we ever get from Obama and the Obamacrats is lies and more lies. America deserves better!
