The Enormity of It All

The current rage in the news media is the story about the move in the Senate for a bill that will allow folks to keep their current health insurance policies.  In many ways, this is the same as if a woman were hit by a car and in the hospital in critical condition while the press was busy writing about how the accident ruined her shoes.  Let's be clear, the loss of individual policies deals with only about 8-9 million people.  While that is 8 to 9 million more people than ought to have lost their coverage, it is still a tiny number compared to those who are covered by the 92 million policies that are going to be cancelled due to Obamacare.  Remember that 92 million policies to be cancelled is the estimate of the Obama administration itself in the Federal Register in 2010.  The overwhelming bulk of these policies are in the small and large business group plan area.  On top of these cancellations, there is also the looming impact of the so called tax on Cadillac plans.  In a few years, every plan that costs too much (according to the government) will be taxed by 40% on top of the already hefty price tag.  Think about how that will play out.  Recently, president Obama has been telling folks that the cancelled plans are going to be replaced by better insurance.  When the Cadillac tax goes into effect, he will probably tell people that the people forced from those plans by the drastic price increase will be better off because their plans will be worse.

When you put all of this together, it will mean not only that some folks will lose their current insurance.  NO, essentially everyone will lose their current insurance.  Obama's lie is just so enormous that it is hard to comprehend just how bad it is.
