Coincidently, It's Good Friday

This afternoon, it was announced that the decision on whether or not to allow the Keystone XL Pipeline construction to proceed is on indefinite hold.  The supposed justification is a court fight in Nebraska which arguably could affect the course of the pipeline (although that outcome is seen as extremely unlikely).  As a result, president Obama and the State Department will not decide whether or not to allow the pipeline to cross the US/Canada border which is roughly 900 miles away from the site of the dispute.

The truth, without a doubt, is that this is just another move by Obama and the Obamacrats to put off having to make a decision on the pipeline.  The problem for Obama is that unions (which are Obama supporters) are wholeheartedly behind the project since it will create tens of thousands of jobs, while environmentalists (who are Obama supporters) are completely against the project since they wrongly believe that it will increase global warming.  No matter which way Obama decides, he has to anger one group or the other.  As a result, Obama has put the decision off now for six years even though construction of the pipeline would have had a major benefit for the country.  In Obama's world, avoiding a political problem is so much more important that doing what is good for the USA.

If there was any doubt about this subject, all you need do is consider that the announcement of this latest delay was saved for the afternoon of Good Friday, one of the slowest news times of the year.
