A Taste of The Clinton Counter Attack

The supporters of Hillary Clinton are mounting a preemptive attack on vice president Biden in an effort to convince him not to enter the presidential race.  Today, the subject being discussed by the Clintonistas is, believe it or not, Anita Hill.  If you remember, Anita Hill is the woman who falsely claimed that Clarence Thomas had sexually harassed her at work.  Thomas, at the time, was being considered for a seat on the Supreme Court at a hearing at which Biden presided as chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee.  According to Hill, Thomas came on to her while they worked at the EEOC.  There's no point to relitigating Hill's accusations today.  Suffice to say that the senate was controlled by Democrats and even they did not buy the Hill accusations, so they subsequently confirmed Thomas as a justice.  Nevertheless, there have been those on the left who have always stuck with the phony allegations put forward by Hill and considered her a victim mainly because she is a black woman who was questioned by white men.

This whole line of attack seems like another moment showing the despair in the Clinton camp.  Maybe 25 years ago, an attack on Biden using Anita Hill might have had some force in the Democrat party.  Today, it is unlikely if even 20% of Democrat voters could recall hearing Hill's name before.  Even fewer would remember the Clarence Thomas confirmation hearings.  Indeed, what this attack ought to tell Joe Biden is that the Hillary forces have little to say against him.

I wonder what tomorrow's attack will be.  Perhaps the Clinton forces will spread the rumor that Biden once got a parking ticket.
