More On Pagliano -- The Plot Thickens

Earlier today, I wrote about the new cover story being spread by Hillary Clinton's people as to why Bryan Pagliano is using the Fifth Amendment to stop himself from being questioned by Congress and the FBI.  Pagliano is the State Department staffer who set up and maintained Hillary's private unsecured server that was used for all her email.  The Clinton campaign leaked the story that Pagliano was paid directly by Hillary for his work on her email server and that he failed to disclose the $5000 payment on his annual State Department disclosure forms.  I won't repeat why this is a ridiculous cover story here.  I just want to add that we have now learned two more important bits of information about Pagliano.

First, Hillary brought Pagliano in at the top of the State Department to work in IT.  His salary from the government was $140,000 per year even though he had no experience dealing with diplomacy, international relations or government secrecy.  Forgetting whether or not Pagliano should have gotten his position absent experience, the salary of $140,000 does tend to put into perspective payments totaling $5000 from Hillary.  Pagliano may just have overlooked the payment when he was doing his annual disclosure.  He was not hiding a massive amount of cash; it was a very small amount given that he got it in bits over two years.  That makes it even less likely that he is taking the Fifth because he got these small payments from Hillary.

Second, reports say that Pagliano had no security clearance.  That means that Hillary had someone with no experience in government security and without even a security clearance setting up her email system.  For Hillary, all that mattered is that Pagliano was a long time staff member who would keep her secrets.

My hope is that Congress gives Pagliano immunity and that he is then forced to testify.  Oh, the stories he may tell.
