The Democrats Are Shutting Down the Defense Department

There was vote scheduled in the senate today to appropriate funds for the Department of Defense for the next fiscal year.  It had no provisions in it relating to Planned Parenthood or abortion.  It had none of the items that the media says will cause a government shutdown in ten days.  It was a regular funding bill which would end political wrangling about paying for our defense for the next year.  So here's the point:  the Democrats blocked the bill.  That's right, Harry Reid and the Democrats blocked paying for the army, the navy, the air force, and all the rest of the Pentagon.

Do you expect there to be stories in the mainstream media about this?  I don't.  If Republicans vote to fund the government but to leave out one program, they are "shutting down the government".  If Democrats block funds for the biggest department of the federal government, that's just business as usual.
