It's Getting Worse For Hillary -- How is That Even Possible?

According to the Washington Post, the tech company that had possession of Hillary Clinton's server has no knowledge that the computer was ever wiped clean of all of the emails that had been stored on it.  For Hillary, this is a disaster which comes on top of a calamity.

Let's look at what this means.

First, email on a computer program like Microsoft Outlook can be deleted from the Inbox.  That deletion does not erase the email; it just moves it into the deleted folder.  Most likely Hillary's people did that.

Second, once an email makes its way into the deleted email file, it can be removed from that folder as well.  By emptying the deleted email folder, the email is placed beyond the reach of someone who is only using the email software for retrieval.  We all expect that Hillary's people did that as well.

Third, even after the email is removed from the deleted email file, it is still resident on the hard drive of the server.  The only way to remove the email at that point is to "wipe" the server.  That requires someone to reformat the hard drive and write new data on top of the sectors where the old data was located.  The process may need to be repeated a few times to get rid of all remnants of the original emails.

It is this third step, the wiping of the hard drive, that Hillary's tech support company is now saying was never done.  To be fair, Platte River (the tech support company) doesn't say that there was no one who wiped the server; instead, Platte River says that it did not wipe the server and has no knowledge that anyone else did that.

Think about that last point.  Either all of Hillary's supposedly deleted emails are still no the server which the FBI now has or, alternatively, someone from Hillary's inner circle (or Hillary herself) went to the time and effort to wipe the server.  If the emails are still there, then Hillary is at great risk that the FBI will find some which are clearly business related and which contain embarrassing or harmful information.  That would mean that Hillary lied when she said that only personal email was deleted.  It would also mean that nothing that Hillary said about her email system has turned out to be true.  If the recovered email had classified information in it, then new questions would arise about Hillary's handling of national secrets.  And, if the recovered email had information that showed that Hillary had lied about Benghazi or some other major event during her tenure at the State Department, then Hillary's days as a candidate would be over.

On the other hand, if Hillary or one of her close confidants spent the time and effort to have the server wiped clean of all traces of her email, then it just makes her look bad once again.  We can only guess as to what was so important in those "personal" email that such a major effort was needed to keep them from the public.  Would anyone believe that these were only messages about yoga, Chelsea's wedding and the like?  Of course not.

The strange thing is that every time it seems that we finally have the full story on the Clinton emails, something new comes out.  And each time we get new details, things just get worse and worse for Hillary.  I almost feel sorry for her.  ALMOST.  Then I remember that she did all this to herself in order to hide her activities from both the American people and the Obama administration and I realize that she is getting exactly what she deserves.
