Moments ago, I happened to open the website for my local newspaper in Connecticut. It's owned by Hearst. The big headline said "Donald Trump Crashes Pope Francis' Party in New York City". Curious to see what the Donald had done now, I clicked on the article. Hold onto your hats; here's the latest outrage. Yesterday evening the pope drove in a procession down Fifth Avenue in Manhattan to St. Patrick's Cathedral. Crowds lined the streets to catch a glimpse of the pope. The procession made its way right past the front door of the Trump Tower where Donald Trump lives. Trump came outside and joined the crowds on the sidewalk. While outside to see the pope pass by, Trump waved and gave the thumbs up sign to some in the crowd. That's it. Nothing more.
Let's be clear. I don't support Trump to be the GOP nominee for 2016. Almost any other Republican would be better (I draw the line at George Pataki and Rand Paul.) But to call Trump coming out his front door to see the pope's procession go by his "crashing the pope's party" is dishonest and disgusting. Hearst should know better than to publish such a silly article.
