How many of you are old enough to remember offices without computers? The computer on every desk started appearing in about 35 years ago. In an office setting, the computers provided scheduling, communications, libraries of important information, and access to the world in general. For many years, I was responsible for the computer systems of my law firm. I know that there were older lawyers who just refused to ever use a computer. These dinosaurs were stuck in an earlier age and unable to move forward into the computer age. People like that, however, are today in the 80s or 90s. Today, in the hearing before the Benghazi committee, Hillary Clinton tried to join the ranks of these dinosaurs.
That's right. Hillary Clinton just told the Benghazi committee that the reason she had so few emails in 2012 compared to 2011 was that she did not use email for her business and did not even have a computer in her office.
This lame excuse is a major mistake by Hillary. Think about it.
1. No one believes that Hillary did not have a computer. We've seen the pictures of her with her smart phone glued to her fingers. We all know now that she had a Blackberry device, a smart phone and a tablet that she kept with her as she traveled. Hillary was addicted to the instant communications of these computerized devices. Now she wants us to believe that in her office she had no computer? That's ridiculous. I mean she already lied in the past when she said she used her personal email system so that she would only need to carry one device when the truth is that she always had at least three. Today's story about not having a computer is just Hillary's way of trying to explain why there was such a drop in the number of emails in 2012. It's also total BS.
2. Even if Hillary had no computer in her office, it does not explain why there were so many fewer emails in 2012 than in 2011. After all, in 2011 there would have been no computer in her office either. It does not account for the difference.
3. One of the groups that Hillary wants to get as supporters is the millennial generation. Telling that generation that she does not have a computer puts Hillary into the same group as Grandma or even Great-Grandma. It makes Hillary about as un-hip (assuming that is a word) as possible.
