Another Story No One Will Cover

Here's a bit of news from Yemen that no one will hear about because the media won't cover it.

You all must remember Yemen.  That's one of the countries that president Obama called a success story in the American fight against terrorism.  Then, of course, the Iranian backed Houthi rebels ousted the president and took control of much of the country.  Right now, there are battles in Yemen between the Houthis, the al Qaeda terrorists, ISIS, and the remnants of the government forces in alliance with the Saudis.

In any event, in Yemen, there is a small Jewish community.  It is made up of roughly 200 people.  It is the remnant of a Jewish community in Yemen that has been there for at least the last 2000 years.  In the 1940's there were roughly 50,000 Jews living in the country, but most left for Israel after that state was established.  Reports today tell us that the Jews remaining in Yemen have been told either to convert to Islam or to be deported from the country.

Think about that, but let's consider for a moment flipping it.  Suppose that the Israelis told a group of Moslems in Jerusalem that they had to convert to Judaism or be deported.  Can you imagine the world wide outrage?  It would be (to use Trump's word) HUGE.  When it happens to Jews in Yemen at the hands of Iran's local allies, however, no one even hears of it.

Hopefully, these people will be able to be rescued from Yemen and taken to Israel.  Still, the silence of the media is deafening.
