What A Great Investment

A few years ago, Al Gore and his group of investors sold their cable network for $500 million dollars to buyers from the Persian Gulf Emirates.  The old network was converted into Al Jazeera America.  Since there has been such an onslaught of news from the Middle East, I thought it would be interesting to check back to see how the new Al Jazeera America network was doing.  For the week ending October 5th, Al Jazeera America had a prime time rating of 0.0 which means that less than one tenth of one percent of the TVs across the country were tuned in to Al Jazeera America.  For the full day, Al Jazeera did not do any better; it still had a rating of 0.0 and it was the lowest rated of the 99 cable networks.  According to the ratings summary, the highest audience seen for Al Jazeera was 24,000.  Without a doubt, most of the 24,000 were just flipping the channels and they came upon the network by accident.

This must be one of the worst investments of all time.
