The most interesting thing to watch on the political scene today is the near hysteria in the media because the latest CBS/New York Times poll of Republicans puts Carson ahead of Trump. I haven't heard this much hyperventilating since last week when the same media was describing Hillary's performance at the Democrat debate. The truth, however, is that this is just one poll. There would need to be quite a few more with similar results before there would be any reason to see a real "trend".
There is some interesting news in the this latest CBS poll. Chris Christie is back down at 1% in the polls. Christie is lucky. If this poll had come out a few days earlier, he would not have qualified for the main stage in tomorrow's GOP debate on CNBC. Given that the debate is going to be on a cable network most Americans could not find without consulting a guide, the audience will most likely be less than it was for the two prior debates. Nevertheless, there will still be millions watching to event. It will be interesting to see if any of the following happen:
1. Will Fiorina and Rubio continue to be the stars of the debates as in the past?
2. Will Trump go on the attack against Carson or others? Alternatively, will Trump try to lower the temperature a bit to appear more presidential?
3. Will Bush change tactics to go with his tantrum of last weekend?
4. Will any of the other candidates change their trajectories?
