I'm Not Sure Anymore

After watching the hapless performance by Jeb Bush last night during the third GOP debate, I felt bad for the scion of the Bush family.  After all, the man was governor of Florida; he must know better that to act the way he did.  I remember thinking to myself that at least Jeb was better than the also-rans of the Democrat debate:  Chafee, Webb and O'Malley.

In the last half hour I saw Jeb's first interview since the debate.  It was on Fox News.  After watching a bit of it, I have to say that I am no longer sure that Bush is any better than Chafee, Webb or O'Malley.  It was sophomoric.  Bush was asked why he tried to demonize Marco Rubio at the debate.  His response was to say that he would never demonize anyone and that all he did was to point out that Rubio had missed many votes in the senate.  He continued by saying that he never got a chance to complete his thought during the debate and then said that even before Rubio began running for president he did not have a stellar attendance record.  It was so sad, that it was almost funny.  Bush, last night, got slaughtered by Rubio for bringing up this inane point.  Today, rather than moving on to something that might work, Bush just repeated his attack while saying he wasn't attacking; then Bush went even further with the attack.

It really is time for Bush to suspend his campaign while he still has some bit of dignity left.  Instead of being a well-regarded former governor, Bush is pushing to be known as a terrible politician who cannot recognize reality.
