Getting Back to Basics

With all the attention focused on ISIS and Ebola, we ought not forget that old standby, the American economy (or what's left of it after five plus years of Obama).

The final figures for 2013 were released by the government today.  The median household income across America was basically unchanged compared to 2012.  The percentage of the population living in poverty was also basically unchanged compared to the previous year.  These are terrible results for a year which president Obama claims as the fourth year of recovery from the recession.  Household income is much less than it was before the recession began.  The last time that a decline like that in household income took place was during the depression of the 1930's.

One has to wonder when it will hit the majority of Americans that the policies being followed by Obama and his administration are very similar to those used by the Democrats during the depression.  These policies did not work in the 1930's to get the nation out of the depression, and they are not working now to get us out of the recession.  All we get is stagnation and very few new jobs.

We need new leadership in Washington.
