For some reason (which is never stated), president Obama has chosen to keep the USA from helping the Kurdish forces that are the main opposition to ISIS in Iraq and which are also fighting ISIS in Syria. America has not delivered any heavy weapons to the Kurds, instead Obama has just said that America would help but then done nothing. In Syria, American planes have finally started to conduct air strikes against ISIS targets near the Kurdish city of Ayn al Arab, but the USA is still not coordinating those strikes with the Kurds in the area. As a result, most of the strikes were on abandoned bases and did no harm to ISIS.
It does not take a genius to recognize that the Kurds are our best allies in the region. It is plain crazy not to coordinate with the peshmerga, as the Kurdish forces are known. Some day, the White House will have to explain why Obama has chosen to abandon the Kurds in this way.
