No Surprise Here

The Gallup organization found that American voters view Republicans as better able to keep the USA safe from international terrorism and military threats by a margin of 55% to 32%.  This margin of 23% for the GOP is the largest such margin for either party since Gallup first asked this question many years ago.  The media acts as if these are surprising results, but there really is no surprise here.  In the last few months, we have watched ISIS crucify, behead, stone, and otherwise murder its opponents as well as innocent civilians across Iraq and Syria.  We have heard warnings directed at the USA by the terrorists accompanied by video of American citizens being beheaded for no crime other than their nationality.  We have heard president Obama make light of this threat for month after month until he was finally forced last night to change course and announce a move against the terrorists.  Even worse, we heard the man supposedly in charge of protecting the nation acknowledge that he did not even have a strategy for dealing with the terrorists, let alone a strategy that actually works.  Any American who paid even slight attention to all this understands that Obama has been a complete failure when it comes to stopping terrorism.

It's worth noting that the same Gallup poll also found that the public prefers Republicans over Democrats by 9% as the party most likely to help the economy and insure prosperity.  This too is a wide margin for the Republicans over the Democrats.

We are still many weeks until election day, so things could easily change.  From the Democrat perspective, however, these two poll results are cause for a level of fear approaching panic.  All I can say is that it is about time that the country woke up to what a terrible job Obama and the Obamacrats have done.
