The old adage about not recognizing the forest for the trees came to mind when I saw the following tweet:
"If somebody wants to think about it as being a war with ISIL they can do so but the fact is it's a major counter-terrorism operation"
Think about that one. Which major government figure do you think said this? (As you consider the question, imagine that the music from Jeopardy is playing.)
Okay, so which major government figure says that the USA is not at war with ISIS (or ISIL) but is just engaged in "a major counter-terrorism operation." Indeed which major government figure thinks there is a difference between a major counter terrorism operation and a war?
I will give you two hints:
1. This person is really dumb. (Okay, I know that really does not narrow down the field of possibilities all that much.)
2. This is the second most idiotic member of the cabinet.
That's right. It's Secretary of State John Kerry, a man who actually could have been president of the United States. Did he miss the speech last night? Is he really of the opinion that the goal set forth by president Obama to degrade and then destroy ISIS is something less than our being at war with ISIS?
